The Sir C.V. Raman Centre for International Studies and Research (CISR) was established at
Government College (Autonomous), Rajahmundry with the objective of transforming the historic institution
into a globally connected, multicultural centre of learning and research.
Named after Sir C.V. Raman, India’s first Nobel Laureate in Physics, the Centre draws inspiration from his
spirit of scientific inquiry, innovation, and global engagement. CISR functions as a facilitation and
coordination hub to promote internationalisation in academics, research, and student mobility, in line with the objectives
of UGC, NEP–2020, NAAC, NIRF, and the Study in India (SII) initiative of the Government of India.
