MICROBIOLOGY-WHERE SCIENCE MEETS THE INVISIBLE

• Microbiology was introduced in this college in the year 1998-99.

• It was started under the restructured course with the combination of M.L.T and Chemistry at Under Graduate level

• The Department has bifurcated from the parent Department Botany and was given individual status in 2005.

•  Now Department has offering UG programme in Microbiology with the combination of , Zoology & Chemistry.

•  A new job oriented restructured programme (F) M.Z.C, has introduced in the year 2017-2018 for fulfilling local needs & skill demand.

• In 2023 as per NEP the department has introduced single major system and is now offering Microbiology  Honours.

• As of now the Department is offering 2 UG programmes: B.Sc M.Z.C and  B.Sc M.Z.C  FOOD and one single major- Microbiology Honours.                                                                                                 
• One Certificate Course Each Year 

• The intake of the students is 30 students for each programe (B.Sc M.Z.C and  B.Sc M.Z.C  FOOD) and 60 for  Microbiology Honours.

• The asset of the Department is its well well-equipped two Laboratories attached to culture room.

• The Department is giving importance to the student-centric programs.
