Women Empowerment Cell

MISSION

• To uplift the girls socially and intellectually, the cell conducts various awareness camps- health, legal, entrepreneurship, defense techniques, etc in order to equip them with the right knowledge for a life of equality, empowerment, personal enhancement and professional success.
• To empower women for protecting, maintaining and strengthening their dignity by developing human capabilities through quality education based on social values and make them responsible citizens who can work for the advancement of the society.
• To promote a heightened awareness of women's rights and duties through various programs and platforms to render them self-reliant, and amplify both innate and learned skills for a life of honour and equal opportunity.
• To encourage female students to be self-reliant and economically independent.
• To instill positive self-esteem and confidence in the female students so that they can take the right decision in and for-their lives.

OBJECTIVE

• To highlight the importance of health and hygiene.

• To create awareness of women’s rights and their roles in the society.

• To help them in knowing the importance of good health, nutrition and facilities available for them

• The aim is that women should work with dignity and safety.

• To provide the procedure for resolution, settlement by taking all necessary step in any kind of harassment.

• To prevent sexual harassment and to promote general well being of female student, teaching and non-teaching women staff of the college.

Roles and Responsibilities

•  To create the awareness on the objectives of WEC amongst girl students for their enthusiastic participation.
•  To encourage women to undertake activities that strengthens their self-confidence.
•  To participate actively in the events and competitions organized by the cell and encourage other girl students to participate.
•  To empower female faculty, staff and students about general economic and social issues.
• To review safety and security measures for female employees and girl students at campus.

Plan Of Action:

1. Organizing Gender Sensitization awareness programmes.
2. To organize awareness programmes on Personal Hygiene  and  Nutrition
3. To organize awareness programmes on Women Rights
4. To organize cultural activities to showcase talents of Women students
5. To organize programmes to create awareness on the importance of women education.
6.  To promote skills of women students

SANKALP

SANKALP (Safeguarding And Nurturing Kids And Adolescents through Love and Protection) is the flagship programme launched by the centre for promotion of Gender Parity at the District Level.

SANKALP is the flagship program launched by the Centre for the Promotion of Gender Parity at the District Level  in  collaboration with The District Women and Child Welfare and Empowerment Office, East Godavari District

. It is designed to ensure the safety, well-being, and holistic development of children and adolescents, with a special focus on gender equality, protection, and empowerment.

Key Objectives of SANKALP:

1. Ensuring Safety and Protection
   • Provides a secure environment for children and adolescents, safeguarding them from abuse, exploitation, and gender-based violence.
   • Raises awareness about child rights and protection laws.
2. Promoting Gender Equality
   • Encourages equal opportunities for both boys and girls in education, career choices, and personal growth.
   • Challenges gender stereotypes and fosters a mindset of inclusivity and mutual respect.
3. Empowering Children and Adolescents
   • Offers mentorship and counseling services to support mental and emotional well-being.
   • Conducts skill development programs to enhance confidence and self-reliance.
4. Community Engagement and Awareness
   • Organizes workshops, seminars, and campaigns on gender sensitization and child protection.
   • Involves parents, educators, and local authorities to create a supportive ecosystem.
5. Collaboration with Stakeholders
   • Works in partnership with schools, government agencies, NGOs, and child welfare organizations.
   • Ensures the implementation of policies that safeguard children’s rights and promote gender parity.

Through SANKALP, the Centre for the Promotion of Gender Parity strives to build a society where children and adolescents are nurtured with love, respect, and equal opportunities, empowering them to become confident and responsible individuals.
